GET  INVOLVED

Engagement: Park Place and Cradock Communities

Engagement Meetings

  • Residents are invited to participate in engagement meetings. These meetings focus on discussing flooding issues, reviewing stormwater interventions, and gathering feedback from residents on proposed solutions.

Co-Design Workshops

  • Community members are invited to participate in public workshops to co-design green stormwater interventions. These workshops provide opportunities for residents to map areas of risk, identify priority projects (like tree planting or park enhancements), and contribute to the design of these interventions alongside scientists and engineers.

Water Quality Testing

  • Norfolk State University students and faculty will conduct water quality testing in partner communities, inviting community members to participate as citizen scientists. This inclusivity will broaden citizen science representation.

Surveys/Focus Groups

  • Residents of the Park Place neighborhood and Cradock communities are invited to complete household surveys and participate in focus group discussions to provide insights into how they use local green spaces, their health and well-being priorities, and their views on green infrastructure projects.
